The Bopper Bus
Presentation by The Bridport Lions

This week was an exciting week for The Bopper Bus Organisation when they were presented with a cheque for
£750 from The Bridport Lions. The presentation took place at The Bridport Leisure Centre on Friday evening when the children turned up on the bus for their usual sports session and swimming.  The children were very happy to receive ‘the big cheque’ which was presented by Mr. John Lay-Flurrie and Peter Garlick of The Lions. I have been involved as Treasurer of The Bopper Bus since the project began in 2003 (being part of the Chideock Parish Plan) and was amazed when we were told that we had been chosen as one of the two recipients of The Bridport Lions Big Easter Egg Raffle. The sum of £750 was equally amazing and the Committee are very grateful to The Bridport Lions for this wonderful donation and their continued support. The Bopper Bus is now entering into it’s ninth year and has always had wonderful support from the parish councils, local authorities, local groups, local businesses and private individuals – without this the ‘wheels would have stopped turning’ a long time ago and talking about ‘wheels’ I must mention Sovereign Coaches of Lyme Regis who have been so crucial to our success. Thank you to everyone who supports us.
