The Bells Project Committee chaired by Mr. Adrian Humphries explained to a packed Village Hall about the progress with regards to the Bells. Taylors Bell experts were on hand to answer many and varied questions and Sarah Silcox showed a power point presentation of the bells being removed and the works thus far. Adrian announced that they were confident the target of £70,000 needed for all the works would be reached and gave thanks to all the village for the amazing support that had been given to this project. This was followed by an auction of memorabilia, i.e. bell clangers, ropes, pulleys, flags and many other bits and pieces. Jim Rowe was Auctioneer for the evening and not only helped raise money but raised lots of laughs as well. The monies raised from selling all the memorabilia, oak beams, etc., was a staggering £900 and a great evening was had by all – helped by the excellent ‘mulled cider’ supplied by The Chideock Cidermakers no doubt! Fundraising is still ongoing at The Clock House and a Plant Sale is being organised for the Spring.
