Some of you may have seen, on Spotlight yesterday lunchtime, an interview with Abi Draisey from West Dorset Scrubbers who we have been collaborating with. We have been delighted with the response from everyone which has enabled us to donate 72 wash bags. However, now our efforts are needed more than ever!
Dorchester County Hospital have just placed an order for 1600 wash bags!
Obviously, this is a huge workload and it is being shared between West Dorset Scrubbers and the Dorchester/Weymouth group. Both of these groups are part of a national initiative making scrubs, wash bags, headbands and face masks.
We are committed to supporting this effort and are seeking help from our neighbouring WIs and other local volunteer groups but if you have any more pillowcases, sheets or duvet covers or any fabric which can be washed at 60 deg plus cord that can be used as a drawstring which we can use then please can you get in touch with me (489200).
We urgently need more sewers to share the load because we’re also expecting a delivery of scrubs to sew up next week. Please dust off those machines and get in touch.
My collection bin is back out at the end of the driveway of Orchard House/The Court in Mill Lane, Chideock but we can arrange to pick them up.
If you’d like to chat about this please give me a ring on 489200.
Many thanks, Tish
