The bells from St.Giles Church have now been removed and are on their way for maintenance and re-tuning. This will now prepare the way for the installation of the new frame. Children from local schools were invited to watch the proceedings and also had the opportunity to ‘ring a bell’ and do some brass rubbings under the supervision of the Bell Captain Dave Symonds. A great time was had by all! The Bells Fund has now reached a staggering £61,600 but there is still a little way to go so please continue to support this project. Villagers, community groups and local businesses have hosted many fundraisers and events and The Chideock Cider Makers have made The Bells Project for their charity this year. The Bells Committee will be having a stall at The Xmas Bazaar in the Village Hall on Saturday 3rd December so please come along. A presentation will be held by the Committee with an update and power point presentation on January 20th. There will also be an ‘auction’ of bell memorabilia so this promises to be an exciting and interesting evening.
