CHIDEOCK BELLS UPDATE

Bells Update

I am sure everyone is looking forward to the Chideock bells ringing out once more and I have received an update from the Bell Captain, Dave Symonds after his recent visit to Taylor & Co in Leicester.  In late April and early May they will proceeding with the Bellframe, foundation, fabrication and construction and then building the bellframe with castings and be producing the headstocks and ringing fittings.  In the second week of May the Builder will attend site to start the masonry work.  Between 21st May and 1st June the Bellhanger arrives to construct the bellframe and hang the bells and between 11th and 15th June the Bellhanger finishes the site work and installs the rope guide. The works may finish earlier than expected which may mean the bellsringing for the Queens Jubilee but either way they will ring out loud and clear for the Olympics.  It will be wonderful to hear the peal of the bells once again.
