Thursday August 11th, 6.30 start: A North Chideock Guided Stroll
Join us for a stroll around some fascinating points of interest to the north of the village on the evening of August 11th, with a guided tour from our very own Colin Bowditch.
One of the best attended Chideock Society events of recent times was Antony Broad’s history talk about Chideock’s ‘castle’, and Colin’s short tour will take in some of the sites of previous habitation in Chideock mentioned by Antony.
Find out more about these lost habitations and other interesting historical features of Chideock on this circular stroll around our lovely village. Colin is well known for his ability to pass on his in-depth knowledge of the area, and you won’t be disappointed!
Starting at St Giles Churchyard at 6.30, this will be a circular route finishing at the church….or, should you prefer, The Clockhouse!
It’s not a hike! It’s not a route march! It’s a gentle stroll around the area, lasting around 2 hours. You will need to wear stout shoes, and be prepared to help others (or be helped!) over the odd stile.
Just reply to this email to let us know if you intend to join us for this fascinating look at what we take for granted, every day, here on our doorstep in Chideock.
Members and non members very welcome: Free for members, £5 for non-members. Children free, so bring along your visiting family and friends!
