The Annual Village Meeting held on Tuesday 1st May was well attended and there was a lively discussion with regard to
Neighbourhood Planning after a presentation by Jo Witherden of WDDC. Reports from all the village groups and organisations were read out informing those in attendance of what has been happening over the last year and what plans groups have for the future. The Parish Council Clerk Ms. Sal Robinson gave a brief report including that fact that the Clapps Mead Playing Field has been registered with Fields in Trust (aka The Playing Fields Association) as a Queen Elizabeth II Field. Fields in Trust have given the Parish Council a wonderful and very large plaque to be placed in the playing field to recognise this and which the Clerk held up for everyone to see. The Parish Council is still the owner of the field and all of the original conditions made when the land was given to the Parish Council remain in force. Keith Bayliss, Chairman of The Fete Committee gave details of the events planned for the Diamond JubileeCelebrations and The Olympic Torch coming to Chideock. A great evening was had by all withrefreshments being supplied by The Chideock Society.
