A ‘Jubilee and Olympic Torch’ meeting was held on ThursdaY evening with all groups participating. The first phase of posters are being put up around the village giving details of the many exciting events that are being held on the June Bank Holiday Queens Diamond Jubilee Weekend – more details in the following weeks. The large cost of the financing of these events is being met entirely from the funds of The Fete Committee and two small grants and things are getting a ‘little tight’ so if anyone would like to make a donation or offer a raffle prize or just help on the day please contact Keith Bayliss on 01297 489027.
Whilst on the subject of the Fete Committee two very long standing members have ‘stepped down’ this year and much thanks must go to Sylvia and Meech Maskell who have been active and hard workingmembers of this committee for over 20 years.
