QUEEN ELIZABETH THE GREAT
For so long, Queen Elizabeth has reigned over our land.
With kindness, good humour and a steady hand.
There is no way to understand the lifelong sacrifice she made
Always there for the people her whole life on parade.
Whilst her subjects work into their sixties for a living wage
The Queen kept on working, well beyond retirement age.
An exemplary Royal and a Wife, Mother, Grand and Great
Immaculate in appearance and her duties for the state.
We are all so thankful and proud of a life lived unblemished
As our hearts fill with sadness For the loss of one we so cherished.
As half-mast flags in the breeze, are unfurled
I can’t help but feel it’s a sadder world .
As a nation we move on with a new King
The words of the anthem now changed when we sing.
King Charles has had decades to prepare for the role
He will give everything he has Mind, Body and Soul.
He is accomplished, intelligent and has bags of charm
In his hands, the Monarchy Should be protected from harm
With his son William The new Prince of Wales, by his side
The respect for our Royals will continue worldwide .
We have moved into a new age, let’s see what it will bring
I am sorry to say, the Queen is dead…. But Long Live the King.
