BELL RINGERS FROM DORSET AND WILTSHIRE WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR

Robert Wellen – Personal Invitation to On-Line Talks

WAR AND COVID

This talk on 20 February at 7.30 pm (UK time) is being organised by my Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Bell Ringers and comes from my research during the first lockdown into the ‘ban’ on bell ringing during 1940-43 and comparing it to the restrictions on ringing in 2020/ 21. It will be of interest to anyone with an interest in wartime politics, Church of England politics and the conduct of war on the Home Front.

BELL RINGERS FROM DORSET AND WILTSHIRE WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR

This talk on 12 March at 7.30 pm (UK time) is being organised by me personally, based on the research I did in 2014-2019 into the bell ringers from these two counties, in the Diocese of Salisbury, who fought and died in this war and the memorials to them. It is not a military history as such, but a poignant story of the men behind the statistics.
